This adds an extra layer of security after you enter your password by requesting you to enter a code from your phone to authenticate. However, for increased account security we recommend enabling two-factor authentication for your Gmail account. With the newer versions of Outlook, you can add your Gmail account as an IMAP account without setting up two-factor authentication, and you don't need an app password. This is a different password than your regular email account password. If Outlook won’t accept your password and you know you’re using the password for your email account, you might have an email account that requires additional security. If prompted, enter your password again, then select OK > Finish to start using your email account in Outlook.

Please note: If you used a unique app password to set up emails on your device, you don’t need to update your password. If you change your Sky iD password, remember to update your email app with your new password, using the instructions below.

If you access your emails on your device using an email app, like Outlook or Apple Mail, we recommend you update to the latest version of the app.
